Andreas Herzog

Andreas Herzog, born in 1956, began his career with the Bavarian police in 1975. After training in Munich and Dachau, he initially worked as a patrol officer in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He later served as an investigator in narcotics crime and in personal protection. Following studies at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Legal Affairs in Fürstenfeldbruck, he led police duty groups from 1992 onward. In 1999, he transferred to the criminal investigation department in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where he was deputy head of Division 1 for many years. His responsibilities included homicide, sexual offences and arson cases. After retiring in December 2016, he worked on a book project about the Soien murder case, which he regarded as the most significant case of his career.
