Andreas Fahrmeir (born 1969) is a German historian. In 2006, he was appointed professor of modern history, with a particular focus on the nineteenth century, at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. His scholarship has addressed nineteenth-century German and British history, changing norms, citizenship and nationality, and economic history. His publications include “Citizenship: The Rise and Fall of a Modern Concept” (2008), “Revolution und Reformen. Europa 1789–1850” (2010), “Europa zwischen Restauration, Reform und Revolution 1815–1850” (2012), and “Deutschland. Globalgeschichte einer Nation” (2021).
