Andreas Bernard

Andreas Bernard, born in Munich in 1969, is a cultural studies scholar who worked as a writer and editor for the Süddeutsche Zeitung from 1995 to 2014. He taught cultural studies at Leuphana University Lüneburg. His nonfiction books include The History of the Elevator (2006), Making Children (2014), Accomplices of the Identification Service (2017), and The Dictate of the Hashtag (2018). His book Wir gingen raus und spielten Fußball was nominated for the Bavarian Book Prize.
