Andrea Sawatzki

Andrea Sawatzki (born in 1963 in Kochel am See) is a German actress, author and audiobook narrator. After training at the Neue Münchner Schauspielschule, she initially performed in theatres in Stuttgart, Wilhelmshaven and Munich before becoming known primarily for film and television roles. From 2001 to 2009, she played Frankfurt detective Charlotte Sänger in the television crime series “Tatort.” Her films include “The Pharmacist” (“Die Apothekerin”), “The Experiment” and “Scherbentanz.” As a narrator, she received a Gold Record, among other distinctions, for her interpretation of “Gut gegen Nordwind,” and was awarded the German Reading Prize in 2009. Her debut novel, “Ein allzu braves Mädchen,” became a SPIEGEL bestseller; she also wrote several novels about the Bundschuh family.
