Daniel Glattauer was born in Vienna in 1960. He worked as a journalist for the Austrian newspaper Der Standard for around twenty years and first became known for his newspaper columns. His breakthrough as a writer came with the email novel »Gut gegen Nordwind« (2006). Together with »Alle sieben Wellen«, it was translated into numerous languages and adapted for radio, the stage and cinema. His other novels include »Der Weihnachtshund«, »Darum«, »Ewig Dein«, »Geschenkt« and »Die spürst du nicht« (2023). Glattauer also wrote several comedies and plays, including »Die Wunderübung«, »Vier Stern Stunden« and »Die Liebe Geld«.
