Andrea Giovene

Andrea Giovene (1904–1995) was an Italian writer from Naples. He attended a monastic school and pursued university studies before becoming an author. During the Second World War, he served as a cavalry officer, was taken prisoner by Germany, and was subjected to forced labor in northern Germany. He is best known for the five-volume novel sequence The Autobiography of Giuliano di Sansevero, published between 1966 and 1970, which received awards and was translated into several languages.
