Ana Zirner (born 1983) is a German author, mountaineer and mountain hiking guide. Until 2017, she worked as a film and theatre director, cultural manager and curator; she was involved in directing international theatre festivals and created political documentary dance-theatre productions with the collective “satellit produktion.” As a mountaineer, she crossed the Alps alone from east to west, an experience she described in her first book, “Alpensolo.” In “Rivertime,” she recounts a 90-day journey along the Colorado River, while “Wilde Berge, weites Land” describes a hike through the Greater Caucasus on the Georgian side. Together with her father, August Zirner, she also published “Ella und Laura.”
