Ambrose Bierce

Ambrose Bierce (born 1842, disappeared after 1913) was an American writer and journalist. Born in Ohio, he served on the Union side during the American Civil War. He became known for his short stories and fiction, as well as for his work as a journalist and Washington correspondent. Later in life, Bierce traveled to Mexico during the Mexican Revolution, where he disappeared; his fate remains unknown.
