Alena Buyx

Alena Buyx (born 1977) is a German medical ethicist. She studied medicine, philosophy, sociology and health sciences. She worked as a professor of medical ethics at the Technical University of Munich, where she also headed the Institute for the History and Ethics of Medicine. In 2020, she became chair of the German Ethics Council, a position she later left. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she became widely known for her public educational work.
