Aleks Scholz (born 1975) is a German author and astronomer. After earning his doctorate in 2004 and conducting two years of research in Toronto, he worked as an astronomer at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, with research including the formation and development of stars and planets as well as brown dwarfs. He has written for the German publications Merkur, taz, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Spiegel Online. In 2010, he received the Ernst Willner Prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann competition in Klagenfurt for his text “Google Earth.” Together with Kathrin Passig, he published Handbuch für Zeitreisende in 2020.
