Albert Einstein (1879–1955) was a physicist. He was born in Ulm in 1879 and studied mathematics and physics in Zurich. He taught as a professor in Zurich, Prague, and Berlin before continuing his career in Princeton. In 1915, he formulated the foundations of the general theory of relativity. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921. Among his best-known contributions is the formula E=mc².
