Alain Ducasse

Alain Ducasse (born 1956) is a French chef. He grew up on a farm in southwestern France and trained as a cook. He subsequently worked with renowned chefs including Michel Guérard, Roger Vergé and Alain Chapel. Under his direction, the restaurants Le Plaza Athénée in Paris, Alain Ducasse at the Essex House in New York and Le Louis XV in Monaco each received three Michelin stars. Ducasse also became known as the author of cookbooks. He described the guiding principle of his cuisine as an effort to make haute cuisine simple, understandable and accessible.
