Alain de Benoist

Alain de Benoist (born 1943 in Saint-Symphorien, now part of Tours) is a French writer and philosopher. He studied constitutional law, religious studies and philosophy. In 1968, he co-founded the GRECE think tank and became one of the leading figures of the French Nouvelle Droite (New Right). Benoist has written more than 100 books, which have been translated into numerous languages, and edited the journals Nouvelle École and Krisis. His best-known works include Aus rechter Sicht, Aufstand der Kulturen, Kulturrevolution von rechts and Gegen den Liberalismus. In 1978, he received the Prix de l’essai from the Académie française.
