Ahmad Milad Karimi, born in 1979 in Kabul, Afghanistan, is a German philosopher of religion and scholar of Islam. He studied philosophy, mathematics, and Islamic studies in Darmstadt, Freiburg, and New Delhi. In 2016, he took up a professorship in kalām, Islamic philosophy, and mysticism at the University of Münster. Karimi is the author of a German translation of the Qur’an and also writes as an author and publicist. In 2019, he received the University of Potsdam’s Voltaire Prize and the German Dialogue Prize.
