Abraham H. Maslow

Abraham H. Maslow (1908–1970) was an American psychologist and one of the leading figures of humanistic psychology. He taught at Brooklyn College in New York and the Western Behavioral Science Institute in La Jolla, California, and headed the Department of Psychology at Brandeis University in Massachusetts. He served as president of the American Psychological Association from 1967 to 1968. He is particularly known for developing Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and for his research on peak experiences. Works by Maslow published in German include »Psychologie des Seins: Ein Entwurf« and »Motivation und Persönlichkeit«.
