Reviewed by Michelle NoveakZafira is one of the few brave people who ventured into the Arz, a magical forest full of dark magic, and one of the even fewer who made it out unscathed. Disguised as a hunter, she uses this ability to feed her village. But when she learns of a way to get rid of the Arz forever, she travels to the mysterious island of Sharr to fulfill her prophecy and save her village. Nasir, son of the Sultan and Prince of Death, is an assassin tasked by his father to follow and kill the hunter. But Sharr is full of ancient magic and forgotten powers, and as ancient threats and enemies arise, not only their missions are in jeopardy, but their lives as well, forcing them to work together. A thrilling and intense slow-burn romance interwoven with Arabic mythology. Absolutely gripping and captivatingly written.
Reviewed by mineandotherstoriesAm Anfang hatte ich noch einige Schwierigkeiten in die Welt hineinzukommen, da einige Begriffe und Erklärungen doch sehr fremd für mich waren. Nach den ersten 50-100 Seiten ist es aber immer besser geworden und ich habe mich richtig gut zurecht gefunden. Die Storyline ist ansich nichts Neues für mich gewesen, „die Protagonistin wird auf einen Quest geschickt, um die Magie des Landes wieder herzustellen und findet auf ihrer Reise nicht nur Magie, sondern auch Freundschaft und Liebe“, aber die Ausführung hat mich sooo begeistert! Alle Charaktere hatten ihre Ecken und Kanten, waren moralisch teilweise schon sehr grau und hatten einfach sehr starke Persönlichkeiten. Hat mir total gut gefallen. Das Setting war toll und mal etwas völlig anderes für mich und die kulturellen sowie sprachlichen Aspekte waren super spannend! Ich freue mich sehr auf Teil 2 und werde damit definitiv bald starten
