Reviewed by ZwitschiNow I understand why this series is so popular; the first book was excellent. The characters are excellent; each one significantly contributes to the story, which is truly remarkable. Dartow, specifically, is intriguing due to his guilt and subsequent transformation. The story was excellent, and I really enjoyed learning more about the characters and their histories. I hope the next book continues this trend. That's a truly excellent book that I highly recommend.

Reviewed by SvenHat mich wieder zum Lesen gebracht. Wird oft als Mischung aus Hunger Games und etwas Game of Thrones in Space betitelt und ich sehe die Parralelen gerade im ersten Buch. Allgemein ein sehr cooles Buch mit geilen Characteren und sehr fast pased. Trauer/Rache und ein Klassenkampf sind Hauptmotivationen des MCs und ich würde lügen, wenn es nicht extrem unterhaltsam war aber zurückkehrend nach den Folgeteilen der Reihe, fehlt diesem ersten einfach etwas die Substanz, da gerade der Klassenkampf scheinbar nur durch Gewalt und dem etwas inkonsistent fähigen MC gelöst wird. Trotzdem ein Buch, was mich mehrere Wochen vereinnahmt und noch danach beschäftigt hat, mit aber auch eben teils anfänglichen Schwachstellen. Die Qualitätskurve zu den nächsten Büchern ist schon deutlich spürbar.
