Rezension von Amely🦋Das Buch wurde mit dem Hintergedanken geschrieben eine mehrteilige Reihe zu werden und das merkt man! Tatsächlich jedoch nicht im negativen Sinne. Das Buch fungiert als eine Art Einführung, bei welcher die Welt und die Kindheit des Protagonisten für spätere Werke erzählt wird. Da die Welt sehr ausführlich und interessant durchdacht zu sein scheint erweckt dies Neugier und man kann kaum erwarten die nächsten Bücher zu lesen. Die Geschichte ist jedoch in diesem Buch recht langsam und ruhig, was ich eigentlich ganz gut fand. Ich kann mir jedoch vorstellen, dass dies in späteren Werken anders sein wird. Ich freu mich schon die nächsten Bücher zu lesen!!

Rezension von Feyza Onay4 (personal rating, overall probably around 3 stars) Hobb approaches this story incredibly sensitive and tactful, I love her complex character portraits, and her class consciousness definitely shines through, overall a story I very much enjoyed and will think about for a very long time! It is however slow paced, which was exactly what I was looking for, but might not be every reader‘s taste!
