Reviewed by JuliaPuh, für dieses Buch war ich nicht ready. Lesbische Nonnen, Visionen, stark bildhaft geschrieben, langsamer Erzählstil.. Leider hat es mich nicht durchgehend gecatcht, aber ich kann mir vorstellen, dass es noch lange nachhallt.
Reviewed by JuliaNach 2/3 werfe ich das Handtuch. Ich kann kein Interesse mehr für Nonnenalltag, Naturbeschreibungen und unterkomplexe Innerlichkeiten aufbringen. Die Lektüre hat mich zu Beginn gefesselt, doch je mehr Seiten in der ewig gleichen, wenn auch schönen Prosa, vergehen und weder Figuren noch Handlung großartig voranschreiten, desto mehr verliert mich das Buch. ich mochte Maries jugendliches Rebellentum ebenso gern wie ich ihre reife Frömmigkeit nervig finde. Die baulichen Großprojekte muteten fantastisch an, waren aber völlig gleichförmig und scheinbar ohne Ziel erzählt. Überhaupt, wohin mich der Roman bringen möchte, weiß ich nicht und da ich auch nicht neugierig auf das Ziel bin, schließe ich das Kapitel Marie De France, die nie recht aus diesen Seiten zu mir sprechen konnte.
