Rezension von ShiMalerei und Naturwissenschaft, zwei eng verwobene Künste, deren Ideen in diesem Buch aufeinandertreffen. Mit real fundierten wissenschaftlichen Betrachtungen und eigenen Erfahrungen als Illustratorin erschafft Kingfisher einen spannenden Ausgangspunkt für einen Horror, der sowohl das Vertraute, als auch das Fremde verkörpert. Die Ich-Erzähl-Perspektive bietet nicht nur die Möglichkeit, die erzählte Welt aus erster Hand kennenzulernen, sondern auch eine immersive Erfahrung mit Raum für eigene Spekulationen. Eine Mischung aus Body Horror, der Angst vor Hilflosigkeit und dem Unbekannten. Das Buch liest sich weg wie nichts und hat definitiv einen hohen Standard für meine nächsten Horror-Reads geschaffen!
