Peak cozy whimsy no gay but still great
I just finished The Spellshop and loved everything about it — 5/5 stars ⭐️ Set in a charming world of magic, books, and a fresh start on a quiet island, this story follows a librarian who leaves her old life behind and opens a spellshop, only to discover that change can bring unexpected friendships and adventures. It was the perfect cozy fantasy read and felt especially fitting for the beginning of spring. The atmosphere was warm, comforting, and exactly the kind of story I love getting lost in. The island setting especially gave me strong Animal Crossing vibes — peaceful, cozy, and full of little moments that make the world feel alive. I especially appreciated the writing style. It felt incredibly seamless — every new plot point was introduced naturally, and the story flowed so well that nothing ever felt abrupt or forced. And can we talk about how amazing Caz is? Such a lovable sidekick. A great companion character can make a story even more memorable, and Caz absolutely did that for me. This book is perfect for anyone craving a cozy fantasy and wanting to escape into a beautiful magical world.
