Addictive! I flew through the pages and drank every sentence in. The idea of this was unique, fresh and compelling, I loved how Lilia spiraled into the world of moral greyness, fully aware what she's doing and what awaits her. Following the inner darkness of Darvyk was absolutely fascinating as well. One tries to become more white, the other more black. I'd loved to have a sequel with another couple, since some interactions in this book came far too short and cramped into a few pages. But since the author said she won't be returning, that's that.
Very entertaining story with the disease and the worms. I loved how the threads of the story came together. Therefore it was fast and easy to read and the scenery was always quite detail-oriented written. It was dark-atmospheric and it was giving the goth-acadamia vibes it intended. The chemistry between Lilia and 'Dr. Death' was well developed in my opinion. I loved the pull and tension. And their backstories were great too. The downside of this story is regretabbly some scenes where I cringed so hard that I almost quit the book... First the FL is almost always tripping or tumbling into something/someone when she sees him. Or something falls out of her hand. (classic) Second: the scene where her best friend told her how to make some more cash.... and she proceeds to do it. That was quite unnecessary. (Also what best friend would do such a thing ??? and recommending something like this) So overall a 3.5 out of 5 if you can ignore the cringe and continue to concentrate on the (darker-love) story.
Fav Dark Fantasy Roman!!
