ein Buch welches mir unglaublich gut gefallen hat. Düster, Geheimnisvoll und spannend! der Spice dominiert nicht , hier steht die Story im Vordergrund. ein Dunkler Krimi mit Lovestory

Review: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's yet another one of my spontaneous read which I finished in a single sitting. I was in stuck in a reading slump for past two weeks, and then yet again I saw it's reel and next thing you know I already finished it. I liked the whole setting of the story. You could easily picture yourself in the whole Dark Academia scenario and if you love gothic/dark academia you'll find yourself reading this book. I liked Troy and Corvina's friendship how he figured it all out and reassured her, always being with her as a good friend. Him dying in the book was one of the last things I expected. I liked him and was looking forward to see him and Jade but little did I know I was in it for the huge surprise. I think it's the reason why I gave 4 stars. Another thing I liked was the fact that this book has a completely different vibe from any book I have read so far. Dark, mysterious, chilling, and full of suspense. I loved the whole setting of moutains, old wives' tales and the touch of macabre in it. Now talking about Corvina & Vad's relationship, I loved how healthy communication they had despite harboring secrets. While Vad had been hiding things and being all secretive, I liked how Corvina dived head on and put her trust in him. She knew he was evil, she knew what he was capable of, and yet she didn't wavered from her believe of Vad not being the responsibile for all disappearences when Ajax accused him of that. Oh, and let's not forget their oh-so-slow build up, chemistry, push and pull, it was all amazing and off the charts!

I really desperately wanted to love this book. I just read Nocticadia and was hoping this to be just as good, deep and mysterious. Sadly that’s not the case. The characters are flat and the romance is too fast paced and abrupt to feel genuine. They’re just horny for each other from the start. Since she’s inexperienced it would’ve been great to feel the longing along with her and to experience building tension through her eyes. The author leaves nothing and I mean NOTHING to the imagination. Her outfit and accessories are in detail listed twice over the span of two pages. The reader is literally spoon fed everything which makes reading less enjoyable since there’s no thought process or wondering required. This had great potential with a nice gloomy atmosphere at the start but sabotaged itself in the following chapters. To me it seems unbelievable that no one ever went into the woods. The students are young and troubled, one surely expects that there would have been students dared to go in there to prove their courage etc. The reader doesn’t really get the chance to dive into the story and the developments don’t feel understandable at all. The dialogue during smut scenes made me cringe SO hard, just incredibly uncomfortable to read…
