Rezension von MerleSo richtig weiß ich nicht, was ich von dem Buch halten soll. Die erste Hälfte fand ich sehr spannend und interessant. Besonders die einzelnen Städte und die unterschiedlichen Orte, die sie erleben, haben mir gut gefallen. Allerdings hat das Ende leider wenig mit mir gemacht, obwohl so viel geschehen ist. Ich vermute, dass das daran liegt, dass mir der Hauptprotagonist leider nicht so richtig ans Herz gewachsen ist und ich deshalb wenig mit ihm mitgefiebert habe. Katherines Perspektive hingegen hat mir viel mehr gegeben und ich fand ihre das Geschehen in London selbst, deutlich interessanter. Aus diesem Grund sehe ich leider keinen wirklichen Grund, das zweite Buch zu lesen, was ich sehr schade finde.
Rezension von LucyI really liked the film "Mortal Engines" and was sad that it was cancelled - Hollywood hates YA fantasy.... I also wanted to read the books at some point. The first book was ok, interesting dystopian world that isn't what it used to be. The city of Bayreuth made me smile. Unfortunately, the characters didn't have enough depth, so I couldn't really empathise with them. I find the cyberpunk and steampunk elements incredibly interesting and will definitely continue with the series. Solid 3/5⭐
