Rezension von maggieI understand why the book and trilogy is so loved, but my god is it a slow and tedious read. I really loved the movies so I'm upset I haven't enjoyed this as much but sometimes you must accept it. My brother, a big fan, says the first book is the hardest to get through so I'm on the fence about whether to go on to The Two Towers, but either way I definitely need a break. I think Tolkien's scenery and descriptive nature is beautiful, I feel he very easily paints the pictures in your mind of the lands which the Company travel through. But I feel like he continues on a but too much. And the speech, which I know is meant to be more poetic and less basic talk, is quite drab and difficult to follow
