Rezension von KelseyThis book was basically the same story as the first. I know it's a retelling, but there wasn't enough added to make it feel fresh, and I found myself getting bored. The audiobook was even worse. Why was Seth's voice performed like that? It was so distracting that I seriously considered giving up on the audiobook altogether.
Rezension von Anja Das Problem war für mich vor allem der Zeitpunkt. Dieses Buch hätte für mich direkt nach Band 1 gelesen werden müssen. Genau dort hätte es perfekt funktioniert, weil die Emotionen und Ereignisse noch frisch gewesen wären. Nach Band 4 hatte ich längst angefangen, die Erben mehr zu mögen und dieses Buch hat diese Entwicklung bei mir eher wieder zurückgedreht.Ja, man versteht jetzt besser, unter welchem Druck Darius stand, wie schlimm Lionel ist und warum vieles überhaupt passiert ist. Dafür hatte ich auch wirklich Mitleid mit ihm. Aber Verständnis bedeutet für mich nicht automatisch Rechtfertigung. Vor allem, weil die Schikanen nach den extremen Ereignissen eben nicht einfach aufgehört haben.Aber anstatt die Jungs mehr zu lieben, wie es immer wieder vorausgesagt wurde, wenn man diese Lesereihenfolge einhält, und nachvollziehbar zu finden, hat das Buch meine ursprünglichen Frust aus Band 1 wieder komplett hochgeholt. Vor allem die letzte Szene rund um Tory und Darcy haben mich erneut wütend gemacht. Weil man nochmal sehr deutlich sieht, wie grausam viele ihrer Aktionen waren. Ob sie ein schlechtes Gewissen hatten, hat für mich in dem Moment nicht gezählt.
Rezension von Rebekkah 🌙Author Note: „These guys have been through a lot and they definitely made a ton of mistakes, but hopefully this chapter of their story helps you see them a little clearer, understand them a little better and maybe even find it in your heart to forgive them a bit more for their choices.“ Ich muss sagen, dass ich den Einblick in die Heirs schon sehr spannend gefunden habe. Vor allem Szenen, wie die Clubszene aus Orion‘s und Darius‘ Sicht fand ich hot. Das Ende des ersten Bandes empfinde ich aber dennoch bis jetzt als das emotionalste Ereignis bisher (habe bisher Band 1-4 gelesen), weil ich es einfach so herzlos finde, was sie den beiden antun. Ich verstehe den Sinn hinter diesem Buch aus Sicht der Autorinnen (siehe oben), würde aber trotzdem nie die Taten der Heirs, vor allem am Ende des Buches, dadurch rechtfertigen, dass sie jemand anderen schützen wollten. Es hat mir aber trotzdem geholfen die immense Anziehung von Orion zu Darcy sowie Darius zu Tory besser zu verstehen.
