The idea of the story of Julie and Sam is a little sweet but unfortunately I cannot get over the fact that Julie is so self-absorbed and rude. I find her quite unlikeable. I know that everyone deals differently with grief but she was so selfish and literally mean to friends and family that I did not enjoy the story as much as I hoped I would.

The story was good but something was missing, expected much more.

I was fully prepared to cry, but sadly I didn't. I still really enjoyed this book and loved the concept of the hypothetical "what would you do if you got the chance to say goodbye to someone you love." I really loved that it shows that while <spoiler> having Sam back temporarily was the chance Julie needed, it also kept her from moving on with her life.</spoiler> I did have to leave it a 4 star before though because there was a side character who was gay that I wasn't aware of when I started reading the book, even though it wasn't mentioned that much.

i expected more, tbh. i think the core of the story is really good! but i didn’t like julie, so it was dragged down by that. at first i wanted to like julie, cause everyone experiences grief different but she was just straight up mean and hurtful in some parts. i liked the other characters. the one time i got kind of emotional was in the last chapter and the epilogue, nowhere else. i think it's a decent book and i am hyped for oliver's book! p.s. - sam deserved better.

Omg. Ich kann es kaum in Worte fassen. Es war am Ende so traurig. Ich habe noch nie bei einem Buch geweint aber das Ende hat mich echt gepackt. Wow.
