Rezension von MichelleWeyward war ein extrem gutes Buch! Auf den ersten Blick ungewöhnlich für mich, da Fantasy-Bücher nicht wirklich mein Genre sind, aber irgendetwas hat mich zu diesem Buch hingezogen, als ich es das erste mal in einer Bücherei in Lyon, Frankreich entdeckt habe und es wollte mir nicht mehr aus dem Kopf gehen. Im Nachhinein kann ich sagen, welch ein Glück. Dieses Buch war so viel mehr als ein Fantasy-Roman, es ist die Geschichte von Frauen, die schrecklich traurige Geschichte von jeder Frau auf dieser Welt, die zeigt, wie sehr sich das Patriarchat bis in unser Privatleben drängt und über Generationen das Licht von Frauen dimmt und ihnen ihre Freude nimmt. Die angesprochenen Themen sind teilweise schwer zu lesen und ich musste mehrere Pausen einlegen, da mich die Wut und Trauer der Erkenntnis überkam, dass dieses fiktionale Buch über Hexen am Ende nicht ganz so fiktional ist, dass der Schmerz dieser Frauen mein Schmerz ist und der vieler Frauen vor mir, aber auch, dass uns dieser Schmerz und diese Wut mit allen Frauen, die existieren und jemals existiert haben verbindet. Ein wunderschönes und tragisches Buch.
