Wünschte nur man hätte das wiedersehen von Debbie, Luke und den Kindern noch etwas ausgeführt. Gina Harte als Detektivin find ich super, Brooke war soooo nervig …

While the story eventually delivers a compelling and emotional punch, it gets off to a somewhat slow and confusing start. The early chapters struggle with pacing, and the narrative can feel scattered as it juggles multiple threads without clear direction. However, once the story finds its rhythm, it becomes an engaging and suspenseful read. The true strength of the novel lies in its characters—particularly DI Gina Harte, who is both tough and emotionally complex. Kovach does a solid job crafting believable personalities, and while not all characters undergo deep development, there are moments of real growth that make them feel more human and relatable. As the investigation unfolds, the tension builds steadily, culminating in a satisfying and emotionally resonant ending. The resolution ties the narrative threads together well and leaves the reader with a sense of closure and justice served.

It does make you wonder who the perpetrator is, but the ending felt a bit underwhelming. I guess you could call it a twist, but it was too far-fetched for my liking. I was hoping to continue with the series but after finishing it, I think I'll pass
