The banter is the real star here—witty, biting, and loaded with years of unresolved tension. From the first page, you can feel the history between the characters, and Roxie Noir does a great job of turning that animosity into something electric. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic is done really well: messy, stubborn, and emotionally charged instead of rushed or cartoonish. I loved how both characters were flawed and guarded, which made their slow emotional unraveling feel earned. The chemistry? Off the charts. The “benefits” part definitely delivers on heat while still serving the story. That said, a few moments felt slightly predictable, and there were spots where I wanted a bit more depth or exploration of certain conflicts before they resolved. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it kept the book just shy of a five-star read for me. Overall, this is a fun, spicy romance with great tension, strong character voices, and plenty of heart. Perfect if you love sharp banter, forced proximity, and enemies who absolutely cannot stay away from each other.

I was very surprised a couple of times a long the way and I am pretty sure that if people at the gym were observing me reading while riding the bike they must have been questioning themselves why the hell I was doing those faces. Like, my jaw was on the floor and I was like WHAAAT? I laughed, felt that squeeze inside, found it hot and also suffered with my friends Eli and Violet. :)
