Millie und Enzo kaufen ein Haus und hoffen, endlich die Vergangenheit hinter sich lassen zu können und ihren Kindern ein behütetes Leben ermöglichen zu können. Doch da haben sie nicht mit der Nachbarschaft der Loctus Street gerechnet. Ganz im Frieda McFadden Stil baut sich das Buch langsam auf. Die ersten Seiten sind zäh, jedoch wollte ich trotzdem immer weiter lesen. Durch kleine Dinge, die unscheinbar wirken, jedoch trotzdem irgendwie Spannung aufbauen, bin ich immer wieder dran geblieben. Der typische Twist kam im letzten Drittel des Buches. Da ging es dann aber auch Schlag auf Schlag und die Ereignisse überschlugen sich. Durch den einfach gehaltenen Schreibstil bin ich wirklich schnell durch das Buch gekommen. Es ist super für zwischendurch, aber wer hier einen wirklich spannenden, unvorhersehbaren Thriller erwartet, wird eher enttäuscht werden.
Es war zwar eine spannende und mitreißende Geschichte, aber irgendwie nicht mehr ganz so spannend wie die ersten beiden Teile. Schließlich ist man davon ausgegangen, dass am Ende alles gut wird und Teile der Geschichte konnte man dann doch ein wenig voraussehen. Außerdem fand ich leider nicht alles komplett realistisch, vor allem die Reife der Kinder. Nichtsdestotrotz war es eine gute Story und es hat Spaß gemacht, sie zu lesen. Ein guter Abschluss der Serie.
i'm glad that i gave millie's story another chance after the second, rather lame part. -simply a good and somehow seicht unterhaltungsthriller. still, i'm curious how the story (especially the kids' lives) will continue.
