Rezension von BellezhoFirst of all, I would like to say that I don't usually read typical "real life romance" books. I lean more towards fantasy books, whether it's adventure, horror/thriller, normal romance or even dark romance genre. I don't like reading books that take place in the "real world", for example I'm not a fan of the Ana Huang series of books because it's just not the kind of book I prefer. I am more the fantasy world girly. Long story short; I bought "The pumpkin spice cafe" mainly just because of the "cute book cover". The illustration just drew me in. Pink, the little café, the cute kitten, how can someone resist? I'm reading a lot of fantasy books at the moment and sometimes I just need a little change, so I decided to give "Pumpkin spice cafe" a try. And what can I say? I read the book within one day. I really liked the author's writing style, it was easy to read and to understand especially as a foreigner. And the story? I didn't expect it, but I'm totally enchanted by it. It was good to read something light hearted and sweet. The story of the city woman who takes over her aunt's café and falls in love with the local hot farmer. Sounds so banal and stereotypical but is so cute. I can only recommend everyone to read this book and I am pretty sure that I will also order the second book in the series for another cozy, warm autumn read. Since I rate books set in the "real world" differently than "fantasy like books" I gave this one 5 stars :) The book had everything a romance lover could wish for! It also makes a great gift :)
Rezension von charlieGenau was ich gesucht habe. Und zwar auf eine positive und negative Art. Nachdem ich im Urlaub dringend ein neues Buch brauchte, weil meine anderen Bücher deprimierend waren, habe ich dieses Buch gekauft. Ich war auf der Suche nach einer leichten Lektüre. Genau das habe ich gefunden. Ich wurde aber auch daran erinnert, wieso ich normalerweise solche Bücher nicht lese. Die Handlung war sehr sprunghaft manchmal. Es ist viel passiert, viel hin und her. Leider hat mich das Buch auch an so mancher Stelle aufgeregt, weil Logan und Jeannie teilweise echt dämlich handeln. Der Spice hat sich bisschen awkward angefühlt an manchen Stellen. Insgesamt (und ich glaube das ist eher ein Problem des gesamten Genres) fühlen sich manche Stellen irgendwie seltsam Frauen gegenüber an. Oft wird Jeannie als niedlich empfunden und verkindlicht, während Logan sich männlich fühlt und seinen sexuellen Trieb nicht ganz kontrollieren kann. Und eine Frage an Jeannie: Wie willst du gleichzeitig quirky, cool und mysterious sein? Ist mir ein Rätsel…Insgesamt bin ich aber ganz zufrieden. Das Buch hat das gehalten was ich erwartet habe und mir etwas leichte Lektüre geboten. Mein nächstes Buch wird aber erstmal eins mit weniger Stereotypen sein, denn ich bin einfach keine BookTok Person.
