After The Seven Year Slip I went into Sounds Like Love with very high expectations and Ashley Poston truly exceeded them. This book is the perfect late-summer read, filled with cozy small-town vibes that made me want to linger in its world forever. As an overthinker, I felt so deeply seen in Joni’s struggle with racing thoughts, and I loved how authentically that inner chaos was portrayed. The way Alzheimer’s was handled was both tender and heartbreaking, and by the time I reached the end, I couldn’t hold back my tears. And then there’s Joni and Sebastian. They’ve instantly become one of my favorite book couples, their chemistry, their struggles, their growth. I felt every single moment right along with them.

And it still feels like a good 2000s romcom
