⭐️ 4.5 stars. Oh my god!, I loved every single second of this book. The romance, the mystery, the banter, everything. This book felt like Christmas magic wrapped in a bow and handed to me personally. Ethan? The definition of a green flag. The way he cared, the things he did for her, the lines he dropped (especially the “Who did this to you?” moment)… I was dead. Actually dead. He and Maggie carried the whole story in the most perfect way, and the chemistry between them? Chef's kiss. Maggie herself was easy to root for, and I loved watching her grow into someone who finally believes in herself instead of doubting every move she makes. Their dynamic was everything: sweet, funny, flirty, and just the right amount of “I would die for you.” The mystery was genuinely fun. Some things were predictable, others weren’t at all, and together it kept me completely entertained. There was a tiny slow patch somewhere around the early middle, but it didn’t last long and honestly didn’t take away from how much I loved the entire experience. The writing? Loved it. The vibes? Perfect. The romance? INSANE. One of my favorite Christmas reads ever. I don’t know yet if it’s a full 5 stars. I need to let it sit with me a little longer, but it’s at least a 4.5. And honestly, it might end up being one of my favorite holiday books of the whole year.
mystery x romcom x christmas = looooove it

3.5⭐️ A very quick read for the holidays. I did not connect to the characters as much as I hoped I would; you felt that they were not flat but that did not translate into the book that well - much backstory but too concisely brought forward. Everything felt a bit rushed and not deeply tackled; wished we focused a bit more on the mystery part because the romance doesn’t have that much development as well. Nonetheless, it was very entertaining and an enjoyable read. I would recommend, but would tell not too expect a deep romance or mystery plot.
