Such a great writing style and a very cool narrator perspective. I completely dived into Evelyn’s story and was then woken up by the parts about Monique. The newspaper bits were really nice and rounded out the whole timeline, but I’m glad that “thespill.com” was only used once because the comments were quite cringe. I saw some resemblances to Daisy Jones & The Six, but it still gave off a completely different vibe, and I loved it. My favourite character was probably Harry. I really liked him and was sad that Evelyn divorced him, especially for „disappointing Max“. Harry and Evelyn’s marriage and friendship were so special. I felt like the end of their marriage due to death would have made their relationship even more meaningful than the other six marriages. But on the bright side, the way it was written meant that he could be part of the book for longer, and his death was so horrible that I wished he wouldn’t have died at all. Evelyn’s storyline with Celia was truly beautiful and heartbreaking. By the way, thanks, Evelyn, for the guide on how to elope in Vegas. I’m sure I’ll need it someday. :) Overall, I really liked Evelyn’s honesty about not being a good person, her complexity, and how she changed throughout her life. Monique’s connection to Evelyn was quite a surprise. I had some wild theories, but I didn’t guess that. I also liked Monique’s inner conflict about Evelyn’s suicide and whether she should stop her. The book felt a little too long. It was a mixture of gripping and lengthy, but the gripping parts definitely won.

~Eine total besondere Geschichte, die sich in eine ganz andere Richtung entwickelt hat, als ich erwartet hatte. Es steckte so viel mehr dahinter, auch wenn mich das bei Taylor Jenkins Reid eigentlich nicht hätte überraschen dürfen. Wie all ihre Bücher war es auf der einen Seite wunderschön, aber auch sehr emotional und traurig. Die Charaktere in ihren Büchern fühlen sich immer so echt an und so unverschönt. Auch die schriftstellerische Leistung bewundere ich sehr, weil alles so gut ausgearbeitet ist, dass ich mich immer wieder bei dem Gedanken erwischt habe, das könnte eine wahre Geschichte sein, auch wenn ich weiß, dass es ein Roman ist. Ein Buch, das ich glaube ich nicht so schnell vergessen werde✨~

Mir fehlen die Worte… Evelyn Hugo ist eine starke, liebende, aber auch egoistische und manipulative Frau und sie zeigt uns zwei Dinge: 1. alles und jeder hat eine Geschichte; ein Päckchen, dass man mit sich trägt und 2. es gibt so viele Arten von Liebe; gute sowie schlechte und beide können dich in den Abgrund ziehen

Wenn man lange Bücher mag ist dieses Buch auch zehn Sterne wert. Ohne sind es für mich immernoch fünf, auch wenn es teilweise etwas langatmig ist. Ist vielleicht kein Buch, welches man dauernd rereaden kann aber das muss es auch nicht sein. Ich weiß nicht ob ich die Umsetzung so sehr mochte wie das Konzept aber alleine für das Konzept, plus Vibe, plus die Charaktere gibt es von mir 5 Sterne.
