i loved loved loved this book! monty has been engraved into my mind from the first moment he was introduced. the way he loves his family unconditionally actually makes me cry. you could clearly see the influence he had on not only his daughter but the rhodes brothers. also the way he kept ensuring reese and saying the sweetest and most loving things? this man is the standard! he is so genuine and honest about what he feels. he made sure to show reese exactly that and more. this man was willing to quit his job for her, hello?! also we cannot look over how hot this man is. if i were reese i would’ve folded too. em just screams big dick energy. reese is truly inspirational. she is the first female owner of a baseball team in history. she always had to work twice as hard as everyone else’s just to be doubted and undermined after all. she was determined to prover herself and change the franchise for the better. i loved seeing how em slowly showed her her love for the sport again and that it is bit just business but family. my heart hurt for her when she lost her confidence in herself after the backlash she received from trading milo up. she handled all that hate online and the doubts of her advisory board so well tho. reese is a business queen through and through with what she put in motion to safe her relationship. she learned to lean on em and that she doesn’t have to shoulder everything by herself. she is just a sweetheart that needed to be seen by the right person. ems and reese’s start was bumpy. they both had the wrong impression of one another but were still drawn to each other. i mean obviously they are both hot and fit like a glove but once they started to unravel each other, they realized that they are it for each other. they struggled with their relationship because of reese being ems direct superior but i loved the way they couldn’t stay away from each other and didn’t want to deny their connection. they are just made for each other. i was so mad when this bitch scott wanted to blackmail reese. like he was an absolute horror the entire time but this was the finals straw. like bro you made catastrophic choices for the team in the past, you’re lucky you’re still on board. monty wanted to give up his dream job just so reese could keep the position and not face backlash but my queen didn’t need saving. i loved how she had already set a plan in motion prior to the blackmailing to ensure she could be with em and still be president of baseball operations. and the fact that she put that in motion after millers and kai’s wedding? that’s when it all clicked and they both realized there is absolutely no way their relationship can end. i lived their bickering throughout the whole book, especially whenever the fraise “don’t tell me what to do” came up. also the proposal? totally on point for them lol the found family in this series was everything and more. i loved how incorporated the rhodes brothers, miller and kenny were in this book. they are one big family despite not being blood related <3 i am more than sad that it’s over :((((
