I think by now I've read/seen this story a bit too often to really get super involved in it but it's still a very nice setting

As soon as you sit down on the train, you hear the hum of the wheels and feel the tight, almost claustrophobic tension of a journey where it seems like every passenger is hiding something. Christie pulls you right in with writing that feels smooth and surprisingly easy to read something you can’t always say about books from this period. The style is simple, sharp, and never drags imo. I was surprised by how quickly I connected with the story. Honestly, I worried I wouldn’t be able to keep all the names straight, but that wasn’t a problem at all. What really stood out for me was the atmosphere of the snowbound train. You can practically feel the cold pressing in from outside while the pressure builds inside among the passengers. The mix of conversations, silences, and little observations builds into a mystery that feels alive. Poirot sits calmly at the center of it all. He doesn’t need to be overly fleshed out his steady, watchful presence is enough to shape the chaos around him. He’s one of those cool, quietly charismatic detectives who make an impression without demanding it. The mystery itself is clever and satisfying. The structure interviews followed by Poirot’s careful analysis keeps things moving at a perfect pace. I did suspect the twist before it came, but that didn’t ruin it for me. If anything, it made me appreciate how neatly everything was tied together. All in all, a lovely read.
