Rezension von Sofiait would be inappropriate to rate this book anything but 5 stars. I know, not everything Capote reports is true to the actual events and utterances. One can tell that he has a certain appreciation for the devastating and the dramatic. Yet the way this story is told leaves me in a mentally disordered state and I mean this positively. This is the beginning of true crime and of showing more interest in a troubled offender than in the victims. The story paints a picture of a different time and it does so in such a well crafted way. Everything is not right with this book and yet I can't help being fascinated with it.
