First read 31.10.2022: 3.75⭐️ okay i really don’t know what to say tbh. It’s not like i didn’t like the book at all, i really did, the thing is that I really didn’t like the first half… it wasn’t completely bad but it simply wasn’t for me. the second half was better and i actually enjoyed it. It even made me want to read all the other books Rina Kent wrote because they’re somehow all connected to each other but you don’t really have to read the others to understand this one. But there are many easter eggs in it so now i want to read the others as well. And i also think the plot was good and Killian and Glyndon are a really good fit for each other (and low-key all the characters which were introduced throughout the book where interesting in their own way). anyway i would recommend this book if you like fucked-up dark romance that’s for sure. Second read 18.02.2026: 4.25⭐️ I really enjoyed it much more after reading all the other books in the Rina Kent Universe. I definitely understand the characters better. Still not a fan of the beginning, how they met and how their relationship developed, but the rest was fine actually. I realized I really like the dialogue in this. It’s gunny and fast paced (in the best way possible) and we actually get full engagement with most of the other characters. As I thought it’s much more fun when u actually get what the fuck the people are talking about while referencing their own books or other plot lines that happened throughout all the other books in the Universe. Loved that. I’m also a huge fan of how the parents and their relationship with their kids is depicted. Because yes actually it does make sense that kids have a strained relationship with their parents even tho they’re in a loving and committed relationship. We also know from their own books that they all have their own issues which don’t just disappear once they are parents. It’s still fucked-up but I fear I’ve read worse and I can look past a lot.
i inhaled this book in only a little over 24 hours, so that tells you a lot. i loved the first part of the book and the beginning of the first chapter is hands down one of the best beginnings i've read. rina kent has a way with words i can't really describe. she can describe nature and darker sceneries with so much feeling and detail, you really feel like you're taking part in the story and i really liked that. i also liked that most of the characters are not neurotypical and that we also have a psychopathic mmc here. it was interesting to see how his mind works and how different it is from neurotypical persons. killian is not a good person at all, but he would burn the world down for glyndon and you could FEEL it. i love obsessed men lol. glyndon on the other hand was not really the most likeable for me and was rather flat in my opinion, i also would've liked it if we explored her female friendships more. nonetheless, i liked them together! the spicy scenes also were good at first, but it got boring in the second part because it was the same over and over again with almost the same type of dialogue everytime as well. i skimmed a lot of those scenes in the second part tbh. also, i really loved the mystery plotline with devlin at first and also that both of them kinda wanted to know what really happened even though that wish kinda got lost for killian on the way or well, generally the topic slowly faded out until like the last 15% of the book and what happened then seemed a bit unrealistic to me and i didn't really understand. also, it was moving a bit too fast at the end in my opinion. still, i enjoyed that book and there are also some lovestorys i am excited to read, especially annika and creigh's and brandon and nikolai's (really looking forward to that mm romance!) so i will definitely be continuing the legacy of god series.
Toller Anfang einer Buchreihe, bin gespannt auf die nächsten Bände
