I’ve been left speechless by this book. I truly struggled with the writing for the first 20% of the book. I felt like the author forgot her style and stumbled her way back to what she was known for. Once that flow was back on track, OH MAN DID I FLY THROUGH THIS BOOK. There was so weird repetition of terms in this book that were just… why? The quirks stopped me from giving it a complete 5 star. The cliffhanger. I need more nonetheless.
WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO MY FRAGILE HEART?!?!?
I absolutely loved Quicksilver, so I was SO hyped for Brimstone — and wow, it pains me to say this, but it was a huge letdown. Honestly, I don’t even know where to start because I really had to drag myself through this book. It had been a year since I read book one, and you just get thrown straight back into the chaos with zero recap, zero hand-holding — I was confused for way too long. Saeris seriously got on my nerves, and her “love” for Kingfisher (more like obsession, let’s be real) felt incredibly over the top. And the constant “my mate, my mate, my mate” — please, he has a name
