I had so much fun with this book! I love the main characters and even the side characters and who would’ve thought I could be sad about the faith of a random goblin. This book is the perfect combination of fun, charismatic characters, thrill, action, emotion and critical thinking. The story starts funny and easy, but it gets more and more serious with different interactions between our heroes and other crawlers but also NPCs. It still never loses its humor though, which is great. All those little hints about what the dungeon actually is are super interesting and I can‘t wait to find out more. My theory-mode is activated. Half a star removed because around the middle is felt like the story didn’t know where it actually wants to go, with a few things getting a bit repetitive. But it catches itself quickly again and then it gets very interesting 👀

This book was insanely fun, also just plain insane. If you think too long about it it’s horrifying, really, and I’m glad that’s thematized (at least from time to time). I gotta say I get the hype and I will definitely read the rest of the series. I’m very excited to see how everything will develop and how much more depth we will get alongside the craziness. One tiny complaint would be that I’m not the biggest fan of Matt Dinniman’s writing style - it’s very simple and uniform. However he makes up for that by cramming SO much action into everything that you can overlook that. That being said I love how he does dialogue. He makes it feel very alive.
