Reviewed by VorleserAstonishing, a book of more than a hundred years could feel so vivid and contemporary even if the technology aspects of it are outdated. But the tone Traven has set is the real pride of the story. He writes in a distinctive way by expressing real anger or fury but at the same time it leaves room for fatalistic humour. I could read one of those books again someday and it felt like reading in my own youth some of those adventure novels I adored when I was a kid.
