Eigentlich super spannende feministische und gesellschaftskritische Themen (alleinerziehende Mutter sein wollen, Schönheits-OPs, weibliche Lust, Rolle der Frau, aber auch Armut, Einsamkeit, Zugehörigkeit,…). Aber es hat sich alles so gezogen und so vieles kam mir so unnötig vor
Rezension von overall this is a very important read! unfortunately i personally couldn’t really connect with the characters and the story. therefore i was a bit bored while reading and forced myself a bit through it :/ the story explores the feminine gender roles and bodily autonomy in japan. part 1 covers the topic of breast implantation whereas part 2 deals about artifical fertilization. what i enjoyed most about this book: tokyo as the setting and the valuable insights into japanese culture.

Rezension von lea 🦇The trauma✨ that comes with becoming, being and aging as a woman. Book 1 (Breasts) deserves five stars and I will probably think a lot about it in the future. Book 2 (Eggs) could have been shortened and didn’t feel as real as Breasts. It lost my attention a lot. (my all-time favorite song was mentioned tho! so one star more heheh)
