Zhuangzi

Zhuangzi (c. 369–286 BCE), also known as Zhou, was a Chinese philosopher and poet associated with Daoism. He came from Meng, in present-day Anhui, and is said to have held an office in the lacquer garden there. Tradition attributes to him an extensive work composed largely of parables, later known as The True Classic of the Southern Blossom Land, which is regarded as a classic of Daoist thought. Together with Laozi, Zhuangzi is counted among the formative thinkers of philosophical Daoism. According to one tradition, he declined an influential public position and preferred a life of leisure.
