Zep

Zep, whose real name is Philippe Chappuis, was born in Geneva in 1968. He began drawing comics at the age of seven and published his own comic magazine at twelve, later adopting its title as his pseudonym. He studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Geneva and began drawing series for the Belgian magazine “Spirou” at eighteen. He became best known for “Titeuf”, whose first story appeared in the early 1990s. In 1996, he received the Alph-Art Jeunesse, awarded by a children’s jury at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, for “Titeuf”.
