Zainab Salbi

At the age of 23, Zainab Salbi founded the human rights organization Women for Women International, which supports women who have survived war. She led the organization from 1993 to 2011. Salbi has published several books, including the autobiographical account “Between Two Worlds: The Years with Saddam and My Escape from Tyranny,” which describes her experiences under Saddam Hussein and her flight from the regime.
