Yvonne Widler

Yvonne Widler is a journalist who served as head of the Lebensart section at the Austrian daily newspaper Kurier. She has received several awards for her socially critical reports and portraits, including the Prälat Ungar Prize for the article “Gedanken von unheilbar kranken Menschen” and the Dr. Karl Renner Journalism Award for her reporting on the fate of a child who grew up in institutional care. A central focus of her journalistic work is the experience of women trapped in abusive relationships and the consequences of such violence.
