Yossi Ghinsberg
Author · 3 books
Yossi Ghinsberg was born and raised in Israel. After three years of military service in the Israeli Navy, he spent two years travelling through South America as a backpacker. During this period, he survived a tragic jungle expedition, which he later recounted in his book *Dem Dschungel entkommen*. He subsequently studied philosophy and economics at Tel Aviv University. In 1992, Ghinsberg returned to the Amazon and founded the conservation project Chalalan. His encounters with Bedouins during his military service influenced his interest in nomadic ways of life.
