Wolfgang Schwarz

Wolfgang Schwarz, born in Regensburg in 1968, studied history and political science. After study periods in Prague and Berlin, he completed his doctorate in 1998; his dissertation on relations between the GDR and Czechoslovakia was published in 2004 as “Brüderlich entzweit?”. From 1999 to 2002, Schwarz worked as a specialist for culture and publications at the German-Czech Future Fund in Prague. In April 2002, he became cultural officer for the Bohemian lands at the Adalbert Stifter Association. His publications include “In Böhmen und Mähren geboren – bei uns (un)bekannt?” (2009) and “Bedeutende Tschechen. Zwischen Sprache, Nation und Staat 1800–1945” (2016). From 2013, he also served on the advisory board of the German-Czech Discussion Forum.
