Wolfgang Schreil is known as an environmentalist, animal expert, author, and nature photographer. Before pursuing this work, he became International German Champion in stone lifting. His close connection with forests and wildlife has shaped his books, lectures, guided hikes, and photography. In 2019, the film “Vom Woife und dem Wald” (BR/Arte), featuring Schreil, was released. In 2020, he appeared alongside Annika Preil in the award-winning children’s series “Anna und der wilde Wald” (BR/KiKA). Schreil received the Rotary Respect Award in 2022.
